Pleasant Hill Kennels
Corso Puppies

blue corso pup From Birth to Weaning
From birth, our puppies are handled daily. At three weeks of age, they are introduced to solid food in the form of a gruel, which they wear more than they consume. By starting this process early, they have mastered the art of eating by five weeks of age and the end result is an easier and stress free weaning period. This also helps to socialize the puppies and creates an early bond to people. The mama benefits as well, especially if the litter is large and she's having to produce more milk than normal. So, at eight weeks, the puppies are healthy and happy being away from mama and mama is fat and looks as good as she did before she became pregnant.

Ear cropping is an option that the new puppy owner has to make. Ears intact or cropped are both acceptable in the showring. Tails are docked when the babies are less than 1 week old. Pictured right is a chestnut brindle with ears intact.
